India, which has the world’s second-largest higher education system, offers a diverse range of internationally recognised courses.

IGCSE has blended local economies and cultures in India to ensure that students obtain a global perspective while also comprehending local customs. Students have the alternative of choosing between core and optional classes.

Cambridge International A Levels, Cambridge IGCSE, and Cambridge O Levels have been given equivalent by the Association of Indian Universities, which awards equivalence to foreign degrees in India. This guarantees that Cambridge students who opt to study in Indian universities have a smooth transition.

According to the Association, five IGCSE passes and at least two A Level passes are equal to a +2 stage certificate from an Indian board, allowing students to enroll in bachelor’s degree programs in Indian universities.

Cambridge’s Science and Mathematics course content corresponds to the approved syllabus for all India open entrance exams for Engineering or Medicine undergraduate studies. Cambridge AS/A level is recognized by all IITs and other specialized institutes.

IGCSE vs. CBSE vs. ICSE comparison

In comparison to CBSE, IGCSE allows students to choose from a diverse range of disciplines. Students at the CBSE board are expected to choose subject combinations within their chosen  stream.

IGCSE, on the other hand, offers a diverse range of courses and combinations, with no restrictions based on the streams.

The CBSE places a greater importance on theoretical topics, these concepts are not necessarily in-depth.

In comparison  IGCSE encourages in-depth study and application in daily life.

The CBSE syllabus is valid throughout India, but the IGCSE syllabus is approved and recognized throughout the world. When compared to CBSE or ICSE, it is generally acknowledged by colleges around the world.

The ICSE curriculum is more broad and well-structured. All disciplines are given equal weight in the syllabus, which encourages in-depth study. On the other hand, the IGCSE board is more practical and application-oriented. In comparison to ICSE, IGCSE offers a wider range of disciplines.

ICSE is a national-level examination while IGCSE is an international standard curriculum.

Many prominent overseas colleges recognize the IGCSE board, making it an excellent choice for kids who want to pursue higher education or even parents who want to relocate abroad.

The needs of each child and their parents determines the answer to which board is superior.
