Understanding, knowledge and higher-order thinking skills

Cambridge programs combine a focus on deep subject knowledge with the ability to develop skills for future study and work. It is a place that values both deep subject knowledge and conceptual understanding, which helps students to make connections between different aspects of a subject. Students are encouraged to learn higher-order thinking skills, such as problem solving, critical thinking and collaboration, as well as the ability to present arguments. These skills are transferable and will be useful for a lifetime. They also prepare students for their future. These skills make learning fun and rewarding.

Cambridge Global Perspectives

Learning and Teaching

Teachers delivering the Cambridge Pathway are supported by Cambridge schools. Our teacher and learner attributes are inspiring, aspirational, and powerful. These attributes are incorporated into all our qualifications and syllabuses to ensure that they are useful, challenging, and productive.

Assessment plays two crucial roles:

  • To prove that a student has learned
  • To improve the understanding and skills of students.

A good education is only possible through effective assessment. Assessments are fair, valid and reliable. Every Cambridge exam gives a true picture about a student’s abilities, regardless of where and when they were taken. Our assessments are a permanent passport to further education and employment.
